Green Day and American Idiot Cast to Perform at New York Jets Game

The cast of American Idiot will rock out alongside Green Day during a halftime performance at the September 13 New York Jets game. They will perform "Last of the American Girls" to help celebrate the team's first regular season game at the recently finished New Meadowlands Stadium. The Idiot cast has previously accompanied the band onstage at this year's Grammy and Tony Awards.

The evening, which will be televised nationally, will also feature recent Rent veteran Nicole Scherzinger during a tailgate pre-show alongside famed guitarist Slash.

American Idiot currently stars John Gallagher, Jr. as Johnny, Michael Esper as Will, Stark Sands as Tunny, Rebecca Naomi Jones as Whatshername, Christina Sajous as The Extraordinary Girl, Mary Faber as Heather and Tony Vincent as St. Jimmy. Based on the popular Green Day album of the same name, the musical opened on April 20 at the St. James Theatre and took home two Tony Awards in June.
